Congratulations to the Westminster Labour Council team for a historic result – winning control of the Council for the first time in its history, and taking the jewel out of the Tory crown!

Fighting within the Labour Party does pay off, and winning control of councils really can change people’s lives for the better – by helping us fight against dodgy developers and landlords, and for local schools and better pay and conditions for council workers.

Thanks to all the activists and local citizens that joined our electoral campaign and canvassed in our neighbourhoods for months, and congratulations to our new labour councillors!

Politics is a struggle, and today’s victory in many wards shows that we still have to fight for nicer living conditions, a better party and a fairer country.
