What is the role?

If there is anything at all that you want to know about your local party your first port of call will be your CLP Secretary. Even if they don’t know the answer, they will definitely be able to point you in the right direction! CLP Secretaries are the pro-active and dynamic figureheads of the constituency who ensure an outward-looking and vibrant local Labour Party. They’re extremely organised and juggle many responsibilities – most importantly making sure all members up to date with what’s going on and have the opportunity to get involved!

What are they responsible for?

The role of CLP Secretary is to keep the CLP running efficiently. They will make sure everyone is kept up to date with the CLPs activities, particularly when it comes to official meetings. They are responsible for making sure that all the CLP’s communications are high quality and that everyone’s details are kept up to date!

They also act as the link to the branches within the local party, to support branch officers with meetings and campaigns, and so that everyone knows what the CLP are up to.
